The Ginza mural at Abercrombie & Fitch’s Tokyo flagship store is the largest commissioned, hand-painted mural in history (55m high and over 820sqm).
MPD worked closely with the famous American artist Mark Beard in creating a continuous image which had been painted in individual segments in Marks studio in Manhattan.
The install required cutting images out of canvas segments and joining them together by a double cut method, similar to a jigsaw puzzle.
The project took 8 weeks to complete by a team of highly skilled tradesmen from WA.
MPD have since completed similar projects in London, Paris, Milan, Seoul, Shanghai and Fukuoka.
